Work to Earn Program Launches in Flint, Michigan

Flint students receive winter boots

Our Will Work to Earn program gives kids in distressed communities the opportunity to earn much needed footwear by completing three to four hours of acts of kindness for their school, community or others. This month, we are pleased to be working with Eisenhower Elementary School in Flint, Mich., to encourage children to take a hand up, not a hand out. Principal Rachel Turner, Sarina Harris, Department of Human Services, and a local donor organized the program with a fall cleaning of desks and classrooms. Share Your Soles delivered more than a 1,000 pairs of winter boots the first week of November. We hope to expand the program to other schools in Flint within the coming year.
